Introduction

• Collaborative Filtering 을 이용한 개인화 컨텐츠 추천 (implicit feedback data)

• Matrix Factorization이 기존 방법 중에서 제일 인기 있는 CF 모델

  1. Item과 User에 대한 저차원 벡터 표현 학습 (factorization of interaction matrix)
  2. User-Item Similarity 의 내적으로 예측

• 이후 Collaborative Metric Learning이 등장

  • 기존 CF 방법과 Metric Learning Methods와 경쟁하기 시작

    → 데이터 간의 유사도를 잘 수치화하는 metric 학습

    

    

  • CML의 Triplet Loss Strategy

    • Interaction X → user 와 negative item 거리 >> user 와 positive item 과의 거리
    • user-user, item-item similarity 를 학습하게 됨

  • 단점:

    • Each user → single vector
      • 지나친 단순화로 인해 표현하지 못하는 user-item 관계가 존재
      • User가 이전에 interact 한 item 에 따라서 item 선호도가 달라질 수 있음 (item-item relation을 녹일 필요)

  →그래서 본 논문에서는 user-item 관계와 item-item관계를 동시에 학습하고자 함

  이 가정을 토대로 전개

  there exists a hierarchical structure in different relation types, and that user-item relations are built on top of item-item relations

Background

Collaborative Metric Learning

• Triangular Inequality (negative dist와 positive dist) 해결로
  • Positive Pair 간의 pull
  • Negative Pair 간의 push
• Hinge Loss
  • SVM에서도 사용되며 maximum-margin CLS 을 위해서 사용
  • $[x]_+ = max(0,x)$
• 한 유저를 단 하나의 벡터로 표현
  • User - Item 관계 단순화… → ‘heterogeneity in user preferences’
    • eg> 한 이용자가 클래식과 락을 동시에 좋아할 수 있음 (두 장르는 metric 공간 사이에서 멂)
  • Item-Item 관계를 포착 x
    • 이전에 사용된 아이템에 기반하여 새로운 아이템 선호도 가능성
• 같은 Metric Space 안에 mapping → 근처 상위 K 개의 item 추천
